YOUR BUILD, EXPLAINED
How BuildPC works
BuildPC helps you plan a desktop PC, understand how its parts fit together, and find regional stores. Start free, without an account.
From idea to parts list
- Choose your shopping region. Store searches and the suggested currency change with your country.
- Describe your PC or select a main use. Use “Fill fields for free” to extract simple requirements in your browser, then review the fields.
- Choose “Find a build”. Free starting builds give you a parts list to customize. Your budget does not filter an unpriced starting build.
- Check specifications and local stores. Open “Specs & stores”, match the exact model, and enter current prices. Budget search works with entered or feed prices.
- Review compatibility, then save or share. Read every warning, check manufacturer manuals, and confirm prices before buying.
What the free tool includes
Manual part selection, starter builds, specification checks, CPU and graphics-card comparison, regional store searches, locally entered prices, saved builds, share links and JSON export.
Where the data comes from
The starter catalogue contains 42 real parts with manufacturer specification links, mainly AMD AM5 with one Intel LGA1700 option. Starter builds cover office, gaming, editing and local AI, each also available as a small 18-litre Mini-ITX build. For Pakistan, some parts also show a reference price from Computer Zone with the date it was checked and its stock status. These are manual snapshots, not live prices, so always confirm on the store’s page. It is a starting library, not a complete market catalogue. Some categories do not yet contain products.
Store links are non-affiliate Google searches of retailers in your region. They do not confirm local stock, delivery, warranty or an exact product listing. No live retail price feed is currently connected. Price history will remain empty until eligible feed observations are collected.
Understand the checks
BuildPC checks the specifications available in its catalogue, including sockets, memory, physical clearance and power information. Missing data is flagged for verification. A parts list is not a guarantee of compatibility, performance or a particular frame rate. Check BIOS support, cables, case clearances and your software requirements before ordering.
Saving and optional AI
Saved builds, preferences and entered prices stay in this browser. Export a copy if you clear browser data or change devices. Shared links contain part IDs and region settings; they do not include your manually entered prices.
“Fill fields for free” processes text in your browser. The optional “Interpret with Gemini” button sends your prompt to Google through this site to help fill the planning fields. It does not look up live prices. Avoid including private information. Google free-tier prompts may be used to improve its products. If AI is unavailable or its quota is reached, the local planner remains available.
Use the cookie preferences control for the wider site’s cookie choices. The builder’s “Methodology & privacy” panel explains its data handling in more detail.
